This year is a very special year for Her Majesty as she celebrates her 90th Birthday. Celebrations are planned around the nation with a Royal walkabout in Windsor on the 21st of April (which is the Queen’s actual Birthday), a four-day Horse Pageant in the Home Park at Windsor Castle from the 12th – 15th of May, and a central weekend of celebration in London, with a Service of Thanksgiving at St. Paul’s Cathedral on Friday the 10th of June, Her Majesty’s Birthday Parade on Saturday the 11th of June. On Saturday the 11th of June there will be a Birthday parade for Her Majesty which will be enhanced by a street party on the Mall for tens of thousands of guests on Sunday the 12th of June.
The British Monarchist Society and subsequently Crown & Country Magazine have their own celebrations planned with a Birthday tea being held on 17th April, a Monarchist Conference on 10th June and a Gala on 11th June 2016. Cities, Towns, Villages and Hamlets throughout the Kingdom are planning their own special street parties which will see the nation resplendent in red, white and blue bunting, with balloons and homemade decorations. Unlike countless Royal milestones before, this celebration is one where no precedent has been set and no algorithm of Royal protocol exists to be referenced, making it a true first for Her Majesty and her subjects.
